"Health Care is a Right, Not a Privilege."
This statement is what drives the members of Rock
Medicine. A non-judgmental, unbiased approach to patients and a deep knowledge
of medicine is what makes this organization so special. It takes a certain kind
of person to volunteer with Rock Med. It takes a person who is willing to deal
with vomit and belligerent patients, yet keeping a sense of humor and a smile
the entire time (and come back again and again for more!). The philosophy of
Rock Med and its participants is simple:
"Take care of the individual right now and return him to his friends or his
family and do away with the necessity of either hospitalizing him or getting him
involved with the law."
