episode 2

The concert is in full swing and the medical tent is filling up. Feedback rattles the walls, guitar chords fall like hammer blows, and the floor is swirling with sweaty kids rocking out to the music. Hardly an ideal place to practice medicine.

  • Here are just a few of the scenarios this episode will cover:
  • On the way to the Korn concert David steps on a tequila bottle which punctured his boot and cut his foot. Dr. Gary stitches his foot and sends him back to the show.
  • Raymond was moshing at Korn when he got head-butted which split his eyebrow. Sylvia gives him eight stitches and some advice. She tells him how to remove his own stitches since he has no insurance. Later Raymond's girlfriend removes his stitches and Raymond's happy because there's hardly a scar.
  • John was moshing at Korn when he got pummeled in the face. He's beaten senseless, he can't answer simple questions. The doctors become concerned that he might have a head injury so they call for an ambulance. John wants to go back to the show. He starts to struggle so the doctors are forced to tie him down. John responds by spitting on people. Finally the medics arrive and take John to the hospital. Later we learn he didn't have a brain injury.
  • Adrian collapsed at the LIVE 105 concert. She hadn't eaten all day and the crowd and heat were too much for her. Sylvia gives her the only food she has, a donut with sparkles. After resting a while she feels better.
  • Evelyn was in the front row of the LIVE 105 show when a crowd surfer slammed into the back of her head smashing her face into the barricade. Her eyes water and her nose swells immediately. Sylvia checks her out and worries that her nose is broken. She suggests Evelyn gets it checked out. Later Evelyn learns Sylvia was right, her nose is broken.
